Single-level composite platform deck on a hilltop lot, framed by artificial turf and a horizontal-slat privacy wall, with integrated LED perimeter lighting for evening use.

Clingmans Dome is named for the views — the deck sits on a hilltop lot looking out toward distant ridges. We built it as a clean single-level composite platform rather than a multi-tier deck so nothing competes with the view. The composite floats above artificial turf so the surround stays green year-round without irrigation, and a horizontal-slat cedar privacy wall on one side blocks the neighboring lot without closing in the rest of the space. The standout detail is the LED accent strip routed around the entire deck perimeter — at night, the platform appears to hover above the turf.
